Inspired by the
1964 LeMans [24 Heures du Mans/FIA World Endurance]winning
Daytona Coupes by famed designer Peter Brock, this Factory
Five replica was built in 2009 to run with the best. Using
only top-quality components to build, the objective was to build
a track weapon that would be street-capable, not the other way
around. 46/54 front-to-rear weight bias with 50.1 cross weight.
Total weight minus driver is 2,300 lbs. (1,043 kg).
With
the upgraded suspension, brakes and drivetrain components (not
a donor build), you can drive this car to the track, run it hard
all day and drive it back home.
Registered
under the coveted "SB-100" (California Senate Bill 100)that
means
no smog certification, no California registration hassles for
the life of the car!
POWERPLANT
Levy

347 cid V8 engine

Fully
machined and balanced 347 cid 'stroker' engine: Its features
include, steel crank, I-beam connecting rods, forged pistons,
custom hydraulic roller cam, Victor Jr. cylinder
heads, Victor Jr. intake. MSD 6AL ignition
and distributor.
Specs: 10:1 compression
ratio [thrives on 91 octane pump fuel]. Horsepower is 450 with
a Holley 650 'Pro Series' carburetor. 6,000 rpm
shift point with a 6,500 rpm rev limit.
Air
Conditioning:
upgraded Taurus fan on standalone harness. This car runs
a steady 190°F200°F water temp even with the A/C
running on a sweltering 110°plus Palm Desert day.

WINDOW AND WIND DEFLECTOR

The wind deflectors were first added at Spa (Belgium) in 1964
to redirect "sideblast" air from
the windscreen into the rear brake airways; it promptly became
standard Coupe gear.

its fully "tuneable" suspension from the billet front
control arms to the 5-link rear suspension and adjustable Koni
shocks, you can quickly dial the handling to your preference
and to track conditions.
This
car captured Best in Class at the 2011 Clovis
Motorsports Jamboree as well as Best Coupe
at the 2011 Factory Five Huntington Beach Cruise-In.
