The task of building these 10 cars was accorded to one of the most gifted craftsmen and authorized Shelby Dealer in the network—Lee Benson, in the rolling hills of The Keystone State. Thus the commission to build these 10 pieces of rolling/competition history began. But unlike the 90 days that original Shelby team needed to create the first Daytona Coupe, the first of these took over three years to complete. The reproduction pieces for these Coupes were created with exacting precision so that the authenticity of the original cars was preserved. C/M 427 Cobra Classic Windsor stroker powerplant; torque is delivered through a Tremec 5-speed gearbox and a Detroit Locker rear. Fuel Safe fuel cell. This "Dan Rose Special" is a Peter Brock–approved (documented) subtle redesign of the original Shelby/Brock Daytona Coupe. Coachwork by Bob Schumacher of Omaha, Nebraska. The condition of this Coupe throughout is superb. The car has logged only just over 1,700 miles (2,750 km), so it shows like new.
