1966 GT40 Mk 1--SOLD!
reproduction by CAV
Titanium Silver
with black leather cockpit.

HOTLINKED photo above opens in a new, 'temporary' window; just close it to return here.

Only 130 original Ford GT40s were ever made. Although almost all survived the rigours of the race track, each one is now worth a not-so-small fortune, putting it beyond the reach of many would-be owners.

The CAV GT is such a vehicle. Today, CAV manufactures the GT with a respectful tip-of-the-racing-visor to the original Mk 1 Ferrari Terminator. In body, the GT is faithful to the original GT40 design as far as practical. But as you know, the Le Mans cars were constructed from materials intended to last only a racing season or two.

In addition, creature comfort in a racing car was not a priority--it was about speed, speed, speed. CAV has deviated from Ford's original design--but only to make the car more comfortable, more technically current and safer for you on the road... yet faithful to its namesake right down to the very last compound curve on its graceful coachwork.

above: full leather upholstery with original-styled cockpit layout, wool carpeting, adjustable seats fore & aft, adjustable pedal box for tall drivers, and last-but-not-least air conditioning for your comfort.

above: Ford V-8 302 c.i.d. with single Holley 4-barrel carburetor mated to a Getrag 5-speed gearbox; stainless steel original-pattern "bundle of snakes" 8-branch header exhaust system with two collectors, mufflers and stainless steel heat shield.

You have to see this drivin' machine to appreciate it. Drop the hammer and you'll see the other side of 100 mph in 9.5 seconds with little effort. You can do the first 60 mph of those in just over 4 seconds. Remarkably--and surprisingly-this was faster than a 1960s Formula 1 car in a straight line.

Overall performance has been further enhanced: CAV has modernized the GT's suspension and braking systems, bringing them on par with 21st century high-end technology.

Own this piece (de résistance) of splendidly-recreated history!
