Bryan:
Well I have another testimonial for B&B Manufacturing. Monday night May 6, 2002 at 8:00 pm was a perfect night for a drive. Sunny 73° and no wind, it was perfect. So I strapped my 2 year old son in his carseat on the passenger side of my B&B Cobra replica, and off we went for a fun ride to the park to play.
I was driving north on a very busy street, the sun was setting in the west and was casting a beautiful but very bright glare of sun light into faces. I turned west into the park entrance, and just as I turned I heard a horn honk, I looked to my right and saw a huge grille of an Infinity ATV just before impact. The ATV was silver and blended into the sunlight and I didn't see it approaching. The ATV hit us square broadside at 40 mph she had time to honk her horn, but she never applied her brakes. There were no skid marks.
My Cobra was hit between the front and back wheels; the bumper of the ATV hit above the sidepipes. Seth's face smashed into the top of the door. He had some cuts to his face from glass fragments and his nose was bleeding, I was thrown into the driver door and then back into the stick shift, my ribs are bruised and my thigh hit the steering wheel and bruised it up. Seth's foot hit the underside of the dash, bruising it.
We were transported to the hospital, they took all kinds of X-rays and CAT scans, and he was just fine except for the ding on his forehead, nose and mouth. When the doctor at the hospital asked him ("what happened?") Seth replied "da Cobba broke." I didn't have a chance to really look at the car until the following day. Attached are some pictures of the damage. The emergency crew and the Doctors were amazed that a fiberglass kit car could take that much punishment and no one was seriously hurt.
The body of the Cobra (see collage of photos below) is pushed toward the drivers side at least 5 inches at the cowl, I haven't been able to see the frame yet but it looks to be in good shape. My insurance adjustor has not checked out the car yet. The body shop owner said that it would be easier to just rebody the car. There is too much fiberglass damage, but the interior is fine except the carpet is ripped.

Here are some pictures of the damage. I can send more if needed Our family feels blessed and protected by God, and your design of the Cobras chassis and body. I will be happy to tell our story to anyone who is interested. Thanks Bryan, Barry, and Lori for a Car well made.
