This beautiful 'black mamba' currently has only 3 miles on it? It's BRAND NEW and has never been driven on the road. The stickers are still on the tire tread, even on the rear ones.

The rolling chassis was built and completed at Shelby's Las Vegas facility; the final assembly was performed by ZAAPS, Inc. in North Carolina, which included the engine/transmission/headers installation.

We finished this Cobra with the full expectation that it will be driven; that's why we chose the Tremec 5-speed. It's the TKO-600 with the "Road Racing" overdrive gear in it. You can cruise on the highway in 5th gear at 70 mph and be turning only 2,576 rpm!

Another benefit of having overdrive is that if 134 mph in 4th gear @ 6,000 rpm is not fast enough for you, one could then shift into 5th and carry on up to 163 mph in 5th gear @ 6,000 rpm. If you desired to push it even further, the theoretical top speed is 190 mph in 5th gear at 7,000 rpm.

Please note: all these speeds were determined using simple math; this Cobra has only 3 miles on it and has never been street driven!

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION/BRAKES

The chassis is of course all Shelby, and (as such) is an improved version of the '60s-vintage big-block Cobra.

Chassis details include:

  • 4" diameter tube frame with 0.120" wall thickness—much beefier than 3000-Series Cobras
  • dual A-arm, coil-over shocks, 4-wheel Shelby independent suspension (includes IRS)
  • rack and pinion steering
  • front brakes: 1"x11 7/16" Baer Racing dual-piston disc brakes, "Shelby" emblazoned on the calipers
  • rear brakes:  3/4"x11 7/16" Baer Racing dual-piston disc brakes, "Shelby" emblazoned on the calipers
  • 23 gallon/87 litre fuel cell

ROLLING STOCK

  • 15" Trigo aluminum pin-drive wheels fitted with stainless steel winged knock-offs
    and shod with:
  • Goodyear Eagle Sportscar Special tires
       -front: 26.5 high x 8.0 x 15
