Contemporary Cobras were
among the very earliest and highest-quality Cobra replicas. Manufactured
by Contemporary Classic Motorcar Company of Mamaroneck,
New York, they were built solidly and authentically from Peter
Bayer's own CSX3045, incorporating the best attributes of the
original's elegant and rigid 4" round-tube ladder frame,
and employing a Jag/Salisbury IRS. The Contemporary
Cobra earned a deserved reputation of being the most precise
reproduction and one of the best-engineered of all the aftermarket
serpents. Contemporary Cobras enjoy a level of collectibility
status all their own.

This
car, still wearing original, excellent condition 1982 paint by
David Patridge is a fabulous example of a great re-creation in
excellent condition. My ancient Kodak digital camera is
incapable of adequately capturing its terrific paint job (the
rollbar photo above does the best job). This is a nice-driving
and breathtakingly original-looking and ready-to-roll
Cobra.
