'Stallion' Cobra
Stratton Brown Metallic/Egyptian Gold stripes

3/4-frontal shot above is hotlinked (same view, much larger size).

This is a rare Stallion Cobra replica (by Arntz Motorsports... the best of its genre). Steve Arntz produced the very first reptile replica in 1970... only a year or so after the last original Shelby 427 Cobra left the showroom. This beauty was built in 1981.

It's a great driver that will provide you with exhilarating (and utterly reliable) performance. This is a classic American roadster with only 18,500 original miles [30,000 km]. With the exception of a a few paint dings, it's in superb condition throughout. The distinctive custom paint finish (2 coats of Stratton Brown Metallic and Egyptian Gold, 10 coats of clear lacquer) always elicits 'thumbs up' displays of admiration.

  • polished & balanced crank by Central Precision
  • heads polished & ported by Central Precision
  • 10.5:1 TRW pistons fitted with Speed Pro rings
  • competition valve and valve train
  • Competition Cams camshaft
  • Cloyes 'True Roller' cam drive with steel gears
  • Ford aluminum high-rise intake manifold fitted with Holley 'Street Avenger' carburetor
  • in-line fuel pressure gauge (visible in the photo above)
  • dual remote oil filters
  • braided SS hoses throughout
  • MSD 'Pro Billet' street performance ignition ensemble
  • cast aluminum 'Cobra' air cleaner housing
  • engine is cooled by twin electric cooling fans

  • rugged Ford C-4 high-performance 'street automatic' transmission; elimination of a clutch pedal provides the driver with considerably additional footroom;
  • rear axle: equally rugged Ford 9" 'pumpkin' fitted with 3.0:1-ratio positraction gears

This cockpit shot is hotlinked (same view, much larger size).

  • Stewart Warner gauge ensemble in the dash (replete with stereo)
  • saddle tan leather upholstery (seats, dash, console and door panels); floorboard and kick panels are of color-matched carpet. The trunk (boot, luggage compartment) is also carpeted.
  • black leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • pleated map pocket in each door
  • fabric soft top with side curtains, and two car covers
  • original-style wind wings

A serious advantage of a Stallion-style Cobra is a more spacious and cruising-comfortable cockpit. There's more occupant space and more legroom and footroom. The doors open and close solidly, with the 'feel' of a production car.

  • Wilwood HD discs in front; Ford HD discs in the rear
  • power-assisted rack & pinion steering

This coffee-colored Cobra has never been raced or abused, and it has
been garaged and very well maintained since it was new.
