Viking Blue basecoat/clearcoat finish

This trophy-winning* 289FIA roadster (with under 500 miles logged) was constructed by Unique Motorcars at their Gadsden, Alabama facility, then finished and detailed by 33autos, their authorized Texas dealer/assembler.

Top-of-the-line paint-prep, paint & clearcoat. It was color-sanded by hand, and lightbooth inspected. The effect you see in these photos was executed by painstakingly layering several coats of glistening Viking Blue finish under multiple coats of clear; this process produces dramatic highlights that vary with light angle & intensity, and imparts a "wet-look" finish. It's even more dazzling in-the-flesh than you see it in these photographs. I've found it well-nigh impossible to effectively capture (with a camera) the stunning beauty of its paint job!

*It was awarded First Place trophy in several prestigious carshows, including the Budweiser Annual Carshow in Houston.

[Note: "FIA" is the abbreviation for the Paris-based "Federation Internationale de l'Automobile," the governing body for the WMC (World Manufacturers Championship) competition of the 1960s, and today is the governing body for many motor racing events; Shelby's 289FIA was specifically designed to meet FIA regulations.]
