*Note: Engine was dyno tested with two mufflers off each header and without the 1" phenolic carburetor spacer that was added during installation in this car. Engine builder states that actual power output should conservatively exceed 500 horsepower as the engine is used in this car.

CHASSIS, SUSPENSION, BRAKES

  • Chassis constructed from top grade 2" x 4" rectangular steel tubing with 3mm wall thickness, reinforced with steel plates to add strength to high-stress areas. Entire frame is powder-coated, adding to the overall appearance and helping to protect it from the environment and ensuring a long life.
     
  • Rack & pinion steering
     
  • Front suspension—cast lower wishbones, a coil-over strut and a stabilizer bar (adding to the overall handling of the car).
     
  • Rear suspension—BMW full independent rear suspension, with a centrally-guided multi-link, 2-track control arms and one longitudinal arm. The rear suspension is fully adjustable and features polyurethane bushings.
     
  • Brakes—power-assisted disc brakes on all four corners.
     
  • Rolling stockHalibrand-style aluminum knockoffs wheels. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 Max Performance tires [315/35xZR17 rear; 235/45xZR17 front].
     
  • Rollbar—full functional, stainless steel driver-side rollbar, mounted to the frame.
     
  • General—the chassis is fitted with an aluminum radiator with dual thermostatically-controlled cooling fans. Custom-made stainless steel radiator cooling lines. The hood has stainless rivets, pre-fitted for authenticity. Tunnel mounted parking brake lever with finished aluminum handle. Chassis includes stainless steel windshield wipers, wind wings and sun visors. Engine compartment is clad in stainless steel to complement the car and deflect heat from the footboxes. Sidepipes are covered with ankle-protecting heat shields.

COCKPIT

Fully carpeted cockpit. Bucket seats upholstered in premium quality leather with driver's and passenger's seat sliders. Dual four-point racing harnesses. Interior is not only fully functional, but also very comfortable and can accommodate a "taller" driver (in excess of 6 foot). The interior is completed with a hardwood rim steering, self-canceling turn signal and a full complement (7) of VDO period-correct gauges. Upgraded Backdraft Racing floormats, power port and stainless steel fire extinguisher.

OTHER EXTERIOR DETAILS

  • The coachwork is made from handlaid fiberglass, reinforced at strategic points for extra strength. All the hanging components are double-skinned to add extra strength to the overall structure.
     
  • Paint workafter meticulous preparation the body shell is painted using PPG paint. The final stage of the paint work is completed with the application of several layers of clear coat to ensure a high gloss and durable paint finish.
