"There's nothing nice about a Cobra. It's stripped down to the essentials—a big engine, a small car, and four wide tires trying to keep the whole business on the pavement. It's loud, smells like gasoline, and shakes, shudders and bucks. It makes your arms tired and your feet hot. You nearly crash about once every ten minutes. It's so damn wonderful that you can't believe it." Automobile Magazine 2004

This beautiful Backdraft Racing Roadster, chassis#153, is finished in "Absolute Red" with white stripes. It is just as much at home being admired by the crowds at carshows and cruise-ins as it is in taking on the winding roads of upstate South Carolina and the highlands of North Carolina. If the awesome red color doesn't get folk's attention, the deep, menacing rumbling from the sidepipes certainly will

Professionally built in 2005 by California Cobra, this car is powered by a 418 cid (Ford Windsor) small-block V8 and mated to a Tremec T-5 transmission. This beast is destined to provide many miles of "wind in your hair" driving adventures.

Titled in The Palmetto State (South Carolina) as a 1964 Ford Cobra.

10 April 2017: You can mark my 'Absolute Red' Backdraft Cobra SOLD! It's on its way to the Port of Charleston to cross over the pond (to Great Britain). It's going to a fine gentleman whose lifetime goal has been to own and drive a Cobra!

Honestly, given the choice to do it all over again, I would have invested in a nice used (D-Series) Nikon right up front. Many thanks! Mike Kenyon
