CSX4113 is #2 of 4 ever
built for the Carroll Shelby/Bill Elliott Signature Series.
The Series was intended to total 10 cars, each based upon
an original 1965 427SC Cobra, but Bill and Ernie Elliott moved
to a Mopar racing team before completion. It was painted
McDonald's
Red,
representing the Elliotts' NASCAR sponsor at the time.
Dan Marino
was a partner in the Elliott Race Team thus the number
"13" (Dan's jersey number with the Miami Dolphins)
in 4113. Bill's brotherheralded NASCAR Winston Cup engine
builder Ernie Elliottbuilt the powerplant. The 454 cid
engine produces a breathtaking 750 horsepower and
600 ft./ lbs. of torque on pump gas.
This
masterpiece was assembled by Bill Andrews of H.R.E. Motorcars
in Freeport, New York. Bill is the only Shelby-approved Cobra
builder and is considered by many to be the finest craftsman
of Shelby Cobras in North America. He is available to answer
your questions. One of the four cars in this Series sold
for $175,000 in 2003; it would cost you over $200,000 to replicate
it today. CSX4113 has 725 miles on it and has been meticulously
cared for by two owners.
