I spent countless hours, over several years, looking over all the manufacturers to find the Cobra replica that stood out against all the rest. The Backdraft Racing Cobra was the very serpent I was looking forfactory-built with precision and detail. The people that make up Backdraft Racing are enthusiastic about their Cobra and have an absolute love for these cars. They put countless hours of thought into the design specifications, and it shows from top to bottom.

Here are more details about this Prism Red reptile:

POWERPLANT

engine photo is hotlinked (same view, MUCH larger size).

Professionally built by The Engine Factory, a 383 cid stroker with only 3,500 miles, and outputting 450 hp @ 5,500 rpm/450 ft.lbs torque at 4,500 rpm. Balanced & blueprinted with 10.3:1 compression which accommodates premium pump gas. Edelbrock 800 cfm carb, Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads with 64 cc chambers, SS intake and exhaust valves, Performer camshaft, Edelbrock double-roller timing set, Comp Cams roller rockers, aluminum valve covers, Jet Hot Coated silver ceramic-coated headers & sidepipes, Perma Cool oil cooler complemented with a 115 cfm cooling fan.

GEARTRAIN

Rugged GM Turbo 350 automatic with tight shift kit. This veritable asphalt rocket launches like a ballistic missile.

CHASSIS, SUSPENSION & BRAKES

BMW 4-wheel independent suspension; fully-adjustable ride-height replete with front & rear swaybars. Drives, handles and stays glued to the pavement like it's on rails.

BMW disc brakes front & rear, The brakes and suspension were engineered for a 3,500 lb. motorcar-and this sleek serpent weighs in at a mere 2,500 lbs. (1,134 kilograms). Very tight!

THE COCKPIT

Premium leather seats, glovebox, heater (proves very handy when you're returning home after dark!); override switch for cooling fans, switch for fan cooled oil cooler, switch for future electric fuel pump, chromed fire extinguisher.

THE SWIFTLY-APPROACHING
HAMMERHEAD SHARK VIEW

ANOTHER 3/4-FRONTAL SHOT

above photo is hotlinked (alternate view, MUCH larger size).

Set up for fuel injection [wiring for fuel pump installed, spacer blocks, custom built and installed between headers and sidepipes on both sides to accommodate 02 sensor; nipple installed on fuel tank to accommodate return line].

Premium cloth fabric (not vinyl) soft top with side curtains, full center zip-up tonneau cover, front license plate bracket (if your state requires it), Optima deep cell battery, car cover.

It's titled as a 1965. You get all the documentation and build receipts.

Upon delivery of your serpentine monster, you won't be able to sleep—all you'll want to do is listen to the melody of those sidepipes as you roll down the road. The countless multitudes will hear you coming and you can almost hear their necks snapping, when they try to get a glimpse of your serpent. But they can't capture much more than a blurred image, as those 4-barrels kick in and leave rubber on the road.
