ERA chassis #471 was built
by Era Replica Automobiles (ERA) in New Britain,
Connecticut. This concours-quality street roadster is finished
in a custom-blended British
Racing Green.
The coachwork preparation and the paint was all executed by a
renowned restoration shop; their crew spent countless hours getting
the fitment of all body panels, doors, bonnet, and boot absolutely
perfect.
No expense was
spared to render this one of the most exquisitely-detailed reptile
replicas ever built.
I was fortunate
enough to grow up in Connecticut, about 20 minutes away from
ERA. When I wasn't there pestering the guys (sorry, Peter
Portante and Phil Gaudette!) at the shop, I was dreaming of the
day I'd own one. That day finally came on April 9, 1998.
It would cost you
over $100,000 to duplicate this automotive masterpiece.
Here are
some details of this phenomenal driving machine:

particulars
This 428FE engine
features an original dual-quad intake manifold and fuel log with
Holley twin 4-barrel carburetors and topped off with Stellings
& Hellings air cleaners. Beneath the cast-aluminum Cobra
427 valve covers lurk the best internals on the market, including:
a forged steel crank and rods, 10.5:1 Wiseco forged aluminum
pistons, Isky solid lifter cam, SS valves, Canton
oil pan, ceramic-coated headers and sidepipes. The aluminum radiator
is cooled by three electric fans (2 pusher, 1 puller) which effectively
keeps her cool even during the hottest summer days. An Optima
battery ensures this beauty starts every time.
