Dear Cobra Country:

Mark my beautiful Sterling Grey serpent SOLD!

Curt, you are the best! I want to thank you for your ‘Dipsticks’ photography tips, and for all the expert advice you gave me—especially for your taking the time to guide me through the appropriate adjustments for my Sony CyberShot camera.

As you advised me, capturing great photographs makes all the difference between effectively marketing your Cobra and merely advertising it!

I began receiving phone calls right after my ad went up, and I had two sight-unseen offers within 48 hours. The first offer was for the full asking price and the second for $2,000 more! I committed to the first offer (a nice fellow Cobra enthusiast in New England) and he overnight-FedExed his check to me; my grey beauty was loaded this morning and she’s off to her new home in New Hampshire.

Again, thanks for the great photography tips and for your terrific website!

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark that fabulous Indigo Blue Superformance #SPF2656 SOLD! It actually sold within just a couple of days after it went up on your site... and in the dead of winter here in Wisconsin!

I received about 20 inquiries from all over the U.S. and Europe, starting from the very outset, and had two solid offers. It's now about to be strapped into an enclosed trailer and headed to its new owner in Kingwood, Texas.

I commend Cobra Country both for its ‘reach’ and for its resources. Curt patiently guided me through how to take better photos of my Cobra, and those (much better) photos played a big role in the phenomenal response I received.

And one other thing: both of the solid offers I got were sight-unseen... the offers and the sale based almost entirely upon my photographs, just as Curt had predicted!

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark that British Racing Green Everett-Morrison Cobra SOLD! And in less than two weeks on Cobra Country—during which time I received (count ’em!) 27 serious responses to my ad! Now it’s on its way to a very happy new owner in upstate New York.

Lessons for a Cobra seller to learn: 1) Follow Curt Scott’s photography advice and place your car onto the world stage with good photographs [after all, your prospective buyers—like my buyer—are likely to be too far away to drop by and see your car in person]; 2) Price it right and it will sell—even in this weak economy, during the off-season, and during the hectic (Thanksgiving) holidays; and 3) Don't waste your time and resources anywhere else—go to Cobra Country and position your roadway reptile in front of qualified Cobra buyers.

For Lesson #4, see Lessons 1, 2 and 3.

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark that ERA 427SC #716” SOLD! And for the second time, since I purchased that ‘black beauty’ on Cobra Country!

Your site works too well! I had you post my serpent on Cobra Country on July 7th; within four hours a gentleman from Switzerland contacted me and purchased my car.

I had underestimated the ‘global reach’ of Cobra Country!

There’s more that impressed me: my neighbors and friends from across the street and hundreds of miles away commented that they saw my Cobra on Cobra Country. You provide a terrific and effective service!

Looking forward to getting delivery of my ERA 289 slabside—but I’m without a Cobra in the meantime. Like a high-performance aerobatic airplane, these drivin’ machines are like a mood-altering, smile-generating narcotic. Satisfying, that's what a Cobra is. The power, the menacing sound and the persona of these roaring reptiles evoke a simpler and more easygoing time. These are bona fide time machines!

Oh well, I could wax poetic all day, but you get the idea!

Keep up the good work!

Mark my Guardsman Blue Superformance #698 SOLD!

It was purchased by a gentleman in Italy; it was loaded into a trailer today and is on the way to New Jersey to await final shipping to Italy.

The transaction went very smoothly throughout, mainly due to your help and advice! To say that you and your site were helpful in this sale and transaction is a tangible understatement. You gave me priceless tips on photographing my car, and did a great job of cleaning up and organizing my photos, and really did a terrific job on the ad.

Your scam alerts were invaluable; I actually DID have a scammer try to swindle me. But I was alert thanks to your tips, and did not get taken.

Even in this down economy, I had a lot of interest in my car, and several other offers.

Curt, you were also extremely helpful and supportive on the phone, and I encourage ANYONE who advertises his Cobra on CobraCountry to phone you first, before taking any photos. It will save him time and headaches! Your advertising charge is VERY reasonable, even WITHOUT all the extra help you give.

But the tips and assistance I received were truly invaluable, and you are very generous with your time and guidance. You are a true gentleman and a man of integrity.

If I ever need to buy or sell another Cobra, CobraCountry will be the very first place I will go.

Thank you very much for all your help, and I wish you continued happiness and success.

Mark that splendid black Backdraft Cobra #327 SOLD!

There is no doubt that the advice your site provides on using your digital camera to capture really professional-quality photos is what expedited my selling my Cobra. Almost every caller commented on how gorgeous my Cobra is... even though all that they had to judge from were those photos from my little Kodak digital camera.

I received two offers from out-of-town folks who only saw my photographs—said offers subject, if they desired, to coming and seeing my car in person. My good photos would not have been there had I not followed the detailed instructions provided on your web site (and in Curt's specific advice on photographing my black car prior to finalizing the ad).

Ultimately the fellow who bought it drove up from Georgia (over 900 miles away) with a bank check and a car trailer attached to his vehicle—all ready to purchase based entirely upon the photographs on my Prestige Showcase page.

Thanks again for your help with my Prestige Showcase page and for having a site which is so well known and respected in the Cobra community—it is far-and-away the #1 place to put your Cobra up for sale.

All the best,

Mike Giannetto

Dear Cobra Country:

Please mark that Superformance SPO#1838 SOLD!

This is the second serpent I’ve sold on CobraCountry.

The first was last July (2008) and it was my own car.

This black beauty belonged to a friend of mine who had it consigned at a Cobra dealer for a year with no luck.

Your site brings just the right buyer. I can't thank you enough!

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark my silver Superformance serpent SPO#2874 SOLD!

It's gone to a happy new owner in Garden City, Long Island, only about 50 miles from my home.

I also had three other offers: one from Nevada, another one from Long Island, and one from a German Air Force (Luftwaffe) officer stationed with NATO air forces in Afghanistan!

I credit my good photos with drawing so much attention to my car... thanks to Curt's expert Cobra photography tips!

Thank you, CobraCountry!

TWO Superformance Cobra 427SC MkIII rollers (no engine or transmission or sidepipes); note corrections in SPO numbers and manufacture dates: SPO#2686 and SPO#2727, both manufactured in 2007). Neither of these two beauties has ever been registered or put on the road, so each is in new condition. SPO2727 is Lime green with black stripes: Lime Green #2727 car Click Here! SPO2086 is Coventry Grey with black stripes: Coventry Grey #2686 car Click Here! Each car is outfitted with all those premium accoutrements for which Superformance is renowned: 4-wheel independent suspension and premium chassis and brake-system componentry, Goodyear Eagle GT2 rubber, Smiths gauges, German leather upholstery. The grey car does have a minor scratch on the bonnet (hood) which I think can be buffed out, but I’m not sure. I acquired these two Cobras in settlement of a civil suit, and thus have no interest in keeping them. My asking price for each one is $29,500 obo, with a $1,000 discount if you purchase both of them. 21 August 2010: Mark my Royal Blue Superformance MkIII Cobra SOLD! It’s on its serpentine path to Piscataway, New Jersey! Extraordinary powerplant: Ford’s all aluminum/hand assembled DOHC SVT Cobra 4.6L [port-matched, lightly polished, balanced & blueprinted], outfitted with forged ceramic pistons, H-beam rods, full windage tray and Moroso pan; this powerplant redlines at 8,000 rpm; the acceleration is not like your buddy’s 427SC—it’s more like an F1 racer or a superbike. This is how the Shelby Series-One might have performed had Carroll been on speaking terms with Ford in 1996. BIG Photo of powerplant: Click Here! Geartrain: hydraulically-operated Centerforce clutch, Tremec T-45 5-speed gearbox; ERA’s custom/‘fail-safe’ IRS. BIG Photo of cockpit: Click Here! Other mentionables: This serpent was showcased in Mustang and Fords magazine in a 3-page special feature written by Eric English. Although this Cobra has trophied in every show at which it has been displayed, it wasn’t built for show, and the engine bay is conservatively detailed in black to facilitate cleaning and frequent driving. CLOSEUP 3/4-view shot: Click Here! If you’re a local buyer, you’ll get a 1-hour chassis-dyno session at Blood Enterprises courtesy of the seller (bring your earplugs). [Note: “FIA” is the abbreviation for the Paris-based “Federation Internationale de l'Automobile,” the governing body for the WMC (World Manufacturers Championship) competition of the 1960s, and today is the governing body for many motor racing events; Shelby’s 289FIA was specifically designed to meet FIA regulations.] If you’re a Facebook user (or can log in on your kid’s account), you can click on the following link to arrive at an extensive album of my FIA’s buildup: Click Here for Facebook extravaganza. The engine is lowered in the frame and offset 1.5" to the passenger side for 50/50 weight balance; it was rebuilt less than 4,000 miles ago (3 years ago) by Ted Wenz at Marcovicci/Wenz on Long Island coincident with the installation of the Hilborn/Haltech full 8-port EFI system. It was dyno-tuned and tested (sheets provided) to produce 596 horsepower/ 600+ ft.lbs. torque; the motor weighs less than 400 lbs./181 kg. (vs. 720 lbs./327 kg. for a cast iron 427). I want to thank you for your ‘Dipsticks’ photography tips, and for all the expert advice you gave me—especially for your taking the time to guide me through the appropriate adjustments for my Sony CyberShot camera. Tim Jesse

Conversely, the CanAm coachwork has all-aluminum inner panels that are riveted and bolted to the chassis, thus becoming an integral/structural part of the chassis. The steel floorpan is welded to the bottom of the frame, gaining you about 3" of headroom—a big advantage if you're over 6 ft. tall, plus it serves to lower the car’s center-of-gravity. The aluminum transmission tunnel is removable to facilitate geartrain access. In-Your-Face frontal shot: Click Here! $41,000 obo.
