Dear Cobra Country:

Mark that ERA 427SC #716” SOLD! And for the second time, since I purchased that ‘black beauty’ on Cobra Country!

Your site works too well! I had you post my serpent on Cobra Country on July 7th; within four hours a gentleman from Switzerland contacted me and purchased my car.

I had underestimated the ‘global reach’ of Cobra Country!

There’s more that impressed me: my neighbors and friends from across the street and hundreds of miles away commented that they saw my Cobra on Cobra Country. You provide a terrific and effective service!

Looking forward to getting delivery of my ERA 289 slabside—but I’m without a Cobra in the meantime. Like a high-performance aerobatic airplane, these drivin’ machines are like a mood-altering, smile-generating narcotic. Satisfying, that's what a Cobra is. The power, the menacing sound and the persona of these roaring reptiles evoke a simpler and more easygoing time. These are bona fide time machines!

Oh well, I could wax poetic all day, but you get the idea!

Keep up the good work!

Cheers!

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark my Guardsman Blue Superformance #698 SOLD!

It was purchased by a gentleman in Italy; it was loaded into a trailer today and is on the way to New Jersey to await final shipping to Italy.

The transaction went very smoothly throughout, mainly due to your help and advice! To say that you and your site were helpful in this sale and transaction is a tangible understatement. You gave me priceless tips on photographing my car, and did a great job of cleaning up and organizing my photos, and really did a terrific job on the ad.

Your scam alerts were invaluable; I actually DID have a scammer try to swindle me. But I was alert thanks to your tips, and did not get taken.

Even in this down economy, I had a lot of interest in my car, and several other offers.

Curt, you were also extremely helpful and supportive on the phone, and I encourage ANYONE who advertises his Cobra on CobraCountry to phone you first, before taking any photos. It will save him time and headaches! Your advertising charge is VERY reasonable, even WITHOUT all the extra help you give.

But the tips and assistance I received were truly invaluable, and you are very generous with your time and guidance. You are a true gentleman and a man of integrity.

If I ever need to buy or sell another Cobra, CobraCountry will be the very first place I will go.

Thank you very much for all your help, and I wish you continued happiness and success.

Mark that Spectra Blue Factory Five Cobra SOLD!

Eight days ago I phoned Curt during lunch and arranged an ad for my Cobra. It went "live" around 2:45 pm and I had an email at 7:00 pm followed by a follow-up phone call and "closed-deal" by 10 pm all in the same day.

In aggregate we had 4 serious offers, 10-12 emails from all over the country and countless phone calls. Cobracountry is extraordinary!

The car is on its way to Utah as I write this. He actually wanted to fly down and pick it up last Saturday but it was Father's Day and I was out of town. That would have meant the listing, sale and delivery all occurring in under 50 hours... not bad!

It’ll soon be on its way to its new home in Switzerland—and (no doubt) nimbly negotiating all the curvaceous Alpine motorways from Bodensee to Vicenza!

My congratulations to its (quite fortunate) new owner Martin. Martin is a genuine gentleman and was marvelous to deal with.

Cobra Country attracts serious buyers and gets serious results. My thanks to Curt who provided me with step-by-step/ color-specific tips on how to capture exquisite photos [of my solid black E.R.A. Cobra], and thus stir the attention of distant buyers such as Martin.

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark my Superformance #0953 SOLD!

My Cobra stayed in the Atlanta area but the photos did sway the new owner to come take a look, as he was looking for a different color and didn’t think he would like a white reptile until he saw my photos. He said he kept clicking back & forth and decided to take a look in person!

My recommendation to future Cobra sellers: listen carefully to every word Curt imparts about photographing your Cobra—regardless of how good (with your camera) you think you are. His advice focuses on real, prospective Cobra buyers and will pay you big dividends.

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark that splendid black Backdraft Cobra #327 SOLD!

There is no doubt that the advice your site provides on using your digital camera to capture really professional-quality photos is what expedited my selling my Cobra. Almost every caller commented on how gorgeous my Cobra is... even though all that they had to judge from were those photos from my little Kodak digital camera.

I received two offers from out-of-town folks who only saw my photographs—said offers subject, if they desired, to coming and seeing my car in person. My good photos would not have been there had I not followed the detailed instructions provided on your web site (and in Curt's specific advice on photographing my black car prior to finalizing the ad).

Ultimately the fellow who bought it drove up from Georgia (over 900 miles away) with a bank check and a car trailer attached to his vehicle—all ready to purchase based entirely upon the photographs on my Prestige Showcase page.

Thanks again for your help with my Prestige Showcase page and for having a site which is so well known and respected in the Cobra community—it is far-and-away the #1 place to put your Cobra up for sale.

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark my glistening brushed-aluminum 427SC Kirkham Cobra SOLD, and for my full asking price!

Within 30 minutes of the time my Prestige Showcase went up on Cobra Country I got my first response! I received approximately 40 responses in the 10 days or so my Prestige ad ran before it sold.

In that time I had received four full-price offers: two from within the U.S., one from New Zealand and one from Germany... all sight-unseen except for my good photographs, which I credit largely to Curt’s Cobra photography tips.

I even received responses from two Cobra admirers who just wanted to let me know how beautiful they think my car is!

30 January 2009

Dear Cobra Country:

Mark my beautiful black Lone Star Cobra Sold!

A very nice fellow Cobra enthusiast from Salt Lake City flew in and purchased my car, then proceeded to drive it all the way back to Utah!

Many thanks to Cobra Country's ‘magic touch’: I had already advertised my Cobra in several publications (magazines and newspapers) and other websites, with no response... it was all a considerable waste of money.

On CobraCountry I received many responses from serious Cobra shoppers.
I credit my sale not only to CobraCountry's enormous audience of Cobra enthusiasts, but even more to Curt's Cobra Photography Tips. My buyer flew all the way here from SLC (and purchased my Cobra) due in large part to my good pictures that persuaded him to come and take a closer look.

I advise anyone who has a Cobra to sell to listen carefully to Curt's advice about how to photograph your car... he knows what he's talking about!

Regards,

Michael Rudnick

(Editor: now, take a look at just one of the good photos that helped get Michael’s buyer's attention!)

Curt's personal comment: See how well Mike's 1) radiator and cooling fans, 2) his red paint, and 3) his wheels, tires and sidepipes are properly and brightly lit up. That's because he took my advice seriously and set his camera to "forced flash," so that it worked on every shot. Without forcing his flash this beautiful image would've been a dark and unattractive/ birdcage-liner shapshot.

You might also notice that there's a 'V' for 'victory' image right atop his driver-side fender!   //:=)

3. Tips for Selling Your Cobra. Cobra industry veteran Curt Scott’s pearls of wit & wisdom. Well, wit.

IF YOU HAVE A COBRA TO SELL: A word to the wise: a nice spring, summer or autumn scene is the ideal photo setting for selling any open roadster. But if you procrastinate until you’ve got bare winter trees, brown foliage and gloomy winter weather, you might as well plan on storing your Cobra (and your digital camera) until next spring. Pick up your phone and give me a call [661-251-0806 PDT, Mon–Sat]. And have a note pad in front of you so you can jot down some expert tips on positioning your Cobra on the world stage. Curt Scott

BIG Photo of cockpit: Click Here! ERA advantages and benefits: ERA is the pinnacle of fiberglass-bodied Cobra replicas—the firm’s reputation for quality and authenticity is unsurpassed. The chassis is reinforced and strengthened far better than the original design, and stiffened to reduce body shake; the fiberglass tunnel is removable for servicing the clutch, driveshaft and transmission. The durable and rugged coachwork resists stress cracks and surface distortion. The special ERA-designed suspension works with the stiffer chassis to produce an optimal blend of excellent handling and smooth ride not available in any other Cobra reproduction. The ERA 427SC is a visual clone of the original 1960s roadster—the body shape is indistinguishable from an original; it has aluminum floors, interior side panels and rear bulkhead [just as the original], and the relationship of the rolling stock to the body is proper... as Curt Scott has written about the E.R.A. 427 Cobra, ‘... it exhibits the absolutely correct menacing stance.’ Fully sorted and completely reliable. Over 4,000 miles this year. In-Your-Face frontal shot: Click Here! $51,500 obo. Contact John at (317) 442-1321 EDT, or email: Grubbs@TDS.net

the Snake and the Stallion
DVD video spectacular now on CobraCountry!

In 1962 Enzo Ferrari ruled the tracks of Europe. Then along came Carroll Shelby and his hot rodders. No one had seen anything like the Cobra... or the war that followed.

Ten years in the making, this fast-paced epic double DVD is the definitive, most comprehensive film ever made of those golden years. Aside from original interviews with all the participants, there's stunning footage of the original races alongside beautiful newly-filmed replays with the original cars (Ferrari GTO's, 250 SWB's, Cobras and Daytona Coupes).

This British production is a veritable must-see video for Cobra and Ferrari fans everywhere!

Note: a rather portentous soundtrack cadence will start rolling as soon as this page opens—so pre-adjust your sound accordingly!

If you're into upscale boating,
below is a link to a YachtWorld
page where Larry has his big/beautiful boat featured.
For Sale:
Country LoreNavigator yacht

Entrepreneur and early Internet pioneer Larry Clarke has been providing invaluable advice and strategy planning for CobraCountry since the early 1990s. In fact, it was Larry who then owned <foothill.net>, the internet service provider in the Sacramento commutershed, and who prevailed upon us—while the Internet was still in its infancy—to set up and cultivate a website to promote and champion Cobra and GT40 replicas. We wound up debuting our first "Complete Guide to Cobra Replicas" at the same time we launched CobraCountry.com. The rest, as you know, is history.

Larry has put up his 58-foot/ twin-Volvo–powered Navigator Pilot House yacht—‘Country Lore’—for sale. So folks, for the first time in CobraCountry history, you're treated to a link to an ad not for a motorcar, but for a motor floater.

3 August 2009: Mark that ERA 427SC #716” SOLD! And for the second time, since I purchased that ‘black beauty’ on Cobra Country! Your site works too well! I had you post my serpent on Cobra Country on July 7th; within four hours a gentleman from Switzerland contacted me and purchased my car. It is with great regret that I now ask you to mark it “SOLD.” But at least when I’m in Zurich on business, I now have a new friend who will loan me a Cobra to drive! I advertised my Cobra only in anticipation of the arrival next year of my next ERA, their new ‘slabside’ 289. I figured that with the current economic downturn, that in a few months perhaps it would sell, or we would be a two-Cobra family! Well, I underestimated the ‘global reach’ of Cobra Country! I seriously thought about reneging on the deal, but the buyer would have been heartbroken and I am a man of my word. There’s more that impressed me: my neighbors and friends from across the street and hundreds of miles away commented that they saw my Cobra on Cobra Country and that it looked great! You provide a terrific and effective service... too effective, in my humble opinion, since I’m currently in the melancholy of seller’s remorse! Looking forward to the slabside 289, but without a Cobra in the meantime. Like a high-performance aerobatic airplane, these drivin’ machines are like a mood-altering, smile-generating narcotic. Satisfying, that's what a Cobra is. My dear wife Marjorie even caught the ‘bug’ and began to ignore her Porsche in favor of the smiles and admiring glances she elicits when she’s behind the wheel of the ERA... the power, the menacing sound and the persona of these roaring reptiles evoke a simpler and more easygoing time. These are bona fide time machines! Oh well, I could wax poetic all day, but you get the idea! Keep up the good work! Cheers!, Woody Menear

15 July 2009: Mark my Guardsman Blue Superformance #698 SOLD! Sincerely, J.D. Wheeler

1 June 2009: Mark that splendid black Backdraft Cobra #327 SOLD! There is no doubt that the advice your site provides on using your digital camera to capture really professional-quality photos is what expedited my selling my Cobra. Almost every caller commented on how gorgeous my Cobra is... even though all that they had to judge from was my photos. I received two offers from out-of-town folks who only saw my photographs—said offers if they desired, to coming and seeing my car in person. All the best, Mike Giannetto
