Cobra Country's Policy regarding prosumer and professional photographers: If you intend to have a photographer—amateur or professional—photograph your Shelby drivin' machine, he (or she) MUST phone me first for a briefing on how to get it right... and not waste everyone's time with his inevitable hit-or-miss techniques. If he's not ready, willing and entirely receptive to do that, then get another photographer. Or better yet, take the photos yourself. Not negotiable... it's our firm policy. And if you wonder why, just look at the buzzard bait 'professional' photos in that Policy Statement above that were sent to us in the recent past... and I'll rest my case. CS

Proud owner Darren Friedman wouldn't reveal just how many bullion bars were required for the 0.0125 mil gold sheet that was used to create this glistening beauty. But there's a whole lotta bullion goin' on here. Photo by Curt Scott.

Cobra/Daytona Coupe admirers: adjust your harnesses

Peter Brock sent us this YouTube video link, which features a Daytona Coupe negotiating (at speed, of course) the straights, curves, corners and surface aberrations of Germany's historic Nürburgring track [Nürburg is the town—in Germany's Rheinland—"Ring" is how Germans characterize a circular track... hence "Nürburgring"]. Just click on the hotlinked 1961 Nürburgring "Grand Prix of Europe" Rennprogramm (race program) cover at left to transport yourself to The Nürburg Ring...

Needless to say, this is a video (and AUDIO) spectacular, so adjust your volume accordingly! And here's a li'l surprise: as genuine as the camera work appears to be, it's a digitally-produced animation... and it's wunderbar! Enjoy! Curt

A Barber Chair for Bobby

Okay, Shelby Cobra aficionado... did you ever watch History Channel's "American Restoration"? If so, you may have seen the episode in which a mangy old (1920s-era) barber chair was restored to coordinate with the client's 427 Superformance Cobra.

Now here... just for you... is the REAL story behind the story.
Just click on that barber chair and sit back for some fun!

You indeed possess bragging rights for the 'global reach' of your website (I did in fact receive inquiries from points east and west) but the new owner resides only 10 miles from my house... go figure. In any case, we wouldn't have connected if it weren't for your site. And profound thanks for your photography tips! Your guide laid it out in step-by-step fashion that enabled a novice like me (and my friends Tom and Todd!) to capture that blue beauty in all its splendor! Again, many thanks! Chuck Grbcich

11 March: You can mark my Bright Green/Mecca Pearl Contemporary Cobra SOLD! Gone (as a wedding present) to a wonderful bride & groom in northern Virginia! First thing I would like to say is thanks personally to Curt Scott of Cobra Country. Curt is reason my car sold at the price it did, when it did, to the young bride-to-be it did. Curt called me up after I sent him my first round of photos and gently informed me "We have to talk." I became—with Curt's guidance—an expert at photographing Cobras. Curt's Cobra photography tips could make a professional photographer out of a blind man. His pointers are quite straightforward, and above all impart the proper methods to shoot these cars. My Cobra was selected and purchased entirely because my second round of photos really captured its beauty. The sale went flawlessly. From the first contact with Cobra Country, the photography lesson, the buyers' inquiries and every other aspect of this sale was not only professional, it was a joy. My car went for the price I wanted to some absolutely wonderful, appreciative people. All of the guidance I encountered from Cobra Country was expert and spot-on for marketing and selling a high-priced motorcar over the internet. I cannot recommend Cobra Country more highly. I was even invited to the wedding, as was Curt. Now that's how you market and sell and buy a car. See ya' in Gettysburg, Curt. Doc Fallon

Synthetic Oil: Rx for Long Engine Life

I keep getting questions about this ground-breaking treatise on synthetic oil that I researched and wrote in the early and mid-1980s, and first published way back in 1986.

Here's a hotlink to the only copy of that original article that I gave permission to be published (to Aaron Daniel, of the GetAHelmet.com website)... and the only copy on the Internet that I know of that is 100% replete with all of my original text, charts, captions and photos.

Read it and enjoy!
