Dear Cobra Country:

Mark my gorgeous Factory Five Racing 427SC Cobra SOLD!

Sold (within 3 wks of going on CobraCountry) to a fine fellow Cobra enthusiast in New Jersey. I commend your site for its 'market reach' and its resources for marketing Cobras.

I especially want to endorse Curt's spot-on photography tips—what else would explain why a fellow Cobra enthusiast 900 miles away in New Jersey would focus-in on my blue beauty (over all others), except to see photos that show my Cobra (almost) as good as it looks in person!

Color me a believer, and a very happy camper!

You can mark my Sunset Red Cobra, SPO#2931 SOLD!

Your site rocks... my red Superformance was sold within 4 days of being listed on CobraCountry!

It's now on a container ship on its way to Japan, snatched up by none other than Seigo Tanabe, who said he knows (and has on several occasions over the years met) Curt personally at races and shows and has since the mid 1990s been purchasing Cobras featured on CobraCountry... with never any sort of hitch.

I thank you for your definitive 'global reach' and for your expert advice on marketing Cobras (especially your terrific photography tips), and will highly recommend CobraCountry to anyone with a Shelby rolling reptile he wants to sell.

Dear Cobra Country:

You can mark that gorgeous white Contemporary 427SC, CCX33421, SOLD!

Gone to Saskatchewan and now the proud possession of a genuine Shelby enthusiast, it'll provide him with miles and miles of smiles and motoring thrills! And even with my good photos, he commented that those photos still didn't communicate its true beauty; he even made the comment that I had 'understated' its quality!

Many thanks to 1) your superb Cobra photography tips (should be required reading for every Shelby Cobra enthusiast), and 2) to Curt's recognizing that my Cobra was "Canada-import–qualified" and thus adding that "Canadian-qualified" banner to my ad. That extra measure snared the attention of several Canadians—including my buyer.

Dear Cobra Country:

You can mark my Galaxy Blue Superformance MkIII SOLD... and in less than 48 hours on your site!

I had been advertising it in other places with no serious offers. Then I opted to put it on CobraCountry... I carefully followed your site's terrific photography tips [using just my little Canon SX200 digicam], and wound up with two serious inquiries within 48 hours.

The first nice fellow to come and see it (on Sunday) promptly purchased it!

Many thanks!

17 August 2011

Dear Cobra Country:

Please mark my Candy Lime Gold Factory Five Racing Cobra "SOLD"! It lasted only a few days, and now has a new home in Redondo Beach.

Your site brought me many calls from as far away as the East Coast, but the first Cobra enthusiast to arrive took home the prize.

During the past five years, I've sold at least 15 Cobras from CobraCountry. Your dedication, Curt, has made this wonderful site #1 (Numero Uno!) worldwide.

Thanks for everything you do to help the Cobra replica industry!

With best regards,

Bonnie Hite
Murrieta, California

Editor: folks, it was Bonnie who discovered and advised me several years ago that a bright, white shower curtain liner works much better (for engine shots) than a white bedsheet, which I had long recommended. Now take a look how well her suggestion worked out in her engine shot of this yellow serpent:

My beautiful blue serpent is going to a lucky new owner in Houston, Texas... sight-unseen except for my very good photographs. For that I can thank your site's paint-by-the-numbers photography tips. And its new Texas owner will find that even the best photos don't do it real justice!

IF YOU HAVE A COBRA OR A GT40 TO SELL:
1).Email me a sampling (15 to 20 photos... no more!) you've already shot of your car (medium-to-high resolution); be sure to include your phone number(s);
2).I'll give you a call back and go over your photos with you. If you'd benefit by reshooting some of your photos, I won't be shy... I'll advise you of that, and I'll explain why in detail, and I'll explain how you can achieve that much-improved (engine, cockpit, frontal, etc.) shot. Contemporary Cobra 427 Roadster, CCX33421. Brilliant White/Guardsman Blue stripes. This Contemporary Cobra is an eye catcher at any showing, having been assembled with great attention to detail along with an abundance of chrome, polished aluminum and a paint finish that is blinding in bright light (paint work by the respected Don Borders). Under the hood: an authentic early 1964 cast-iron 427FE Ford center-oiler V8 is outfitted with low-riser heads, Offy intake, Crower mechanical cam, dual Edelbrock carburetors, and much more. The motor is tamed for cruising through the use of a highly modified C-6 transmission. The elimination of the need for a clutch pedal along with the large Contemporary footbox provides ample kneeroom for the taller driver (see photos). In addition to Contemporary's legendary undercarriage and Jaguar XKE rear suspension, the interior features original English Connolly Leather upholstery and Wilton Wool carpeting, correct badging and period-correct instrumentation. This beauty was first titled in California in 1990 and has been garaged in Colorado for 20 years.

Here's wishing you all a GREAT 2012! Charlie Thompson
