I'm
Bill Littleton of GCPC in Florence, Kentucky. My
brother Fred and I take great pride in introducing you to the
Backdraft Racing 427 roadster. GCPC has the experience
and the expertise to provide you with a wide range of engine
and transmission options to satisfy your own preferences.
We're
both licensed fixed-wing aircraft technicians--each of us having
served in the United States Marine Corps, maintaining
fighter aircraft. We take pride putting the Greater Cincinnati
Performance Cars name on the fabulous Backdraft roadster.
Our background mandated that we pay close attention to all the
details. You, too, can be counted among The Few and the Proud
owners of a Backdraft roadster
Each
completed Backdraft turnkey roadster is run through our
state-of-the-art dynamometer; you're presented with a
computer printout to provide you with comprehensive--make that
exhaustive-- details of your engine's performance.
You've
seen Backdraft's phenomenal drivin' machine featured and
showcased in "The Complete Guide to Cobra Replicas,"
and you'll uncover still more details below...

Backdraft chassis--constructed from top-grade 2" X 4"
rectangular mild-steel tubing with 3 mm wall thickness.
It's strategically reinforced with steel plates to add strength
and minimize flex in high-stress areas. Powder coating enhances
the appearance and also serves to protect it from the environment.
Put another way: your Backdraft 427 roadster looks
better from beneath than most of the roadster replicas looks
from above.
Backdraft front suspension--cast-over wishbones with a
coil-over strut. We also employ a robust stabilizer bar which
further refines the handling of your Backdraft drivin'
machine.
Backdraft rear suspension--your Backdraft roadster
utilizes a full IRS system, with centrally-guided multi-link,
2-track control arms, one longitudinal arm and a swaybar.
Backdraft brakes--power assisted with disks all-around.
Ventilated disks in front, solids in the rear.
Backdraft rolling stock--Halibrand-style aluminum
bolt-on, one- piece wheels. They come in 15" as standard;
you can upgrade to 17" if you prefer.

Backdraft cockpit--no shortcuts. Your Backdraft roadster
comes outfitted with a hardwood-rimmed steering wheel and a full
complement of seven instrument gauges; premium carpet and overlay
mats with bound edges. Top-quality steerhide leather upholstery;
furthermore, the driver's-side seat is slide-adjustable, and
will comfortably accommodate a driver over 6' tall.
Backdraft exhaust system--precision-crafted headers with
polished stainless steel sidepipes come with your Backdraft
roadster as standard equipment; you can specify ceramic coating
as an option.

Backdraft rollbar--stainless steel driver's-side rollbar,
securely mounted to the frame.
Backdraft fuel system--the chassis is pre-fitted with
a 19 gallon/72 litre stainless-steel fuel tank, accessed
with a period-correct, lockable LeMans-style cast-aluminum
filler cap.
After the Backdraft
body has been carefully fitted onto the frame, it's then removed
from the chassis and sent to Backdraft's painting facility;
the coachwork then undergoes a specialized procedure to carefully
prepare the entire surface for a high-gloss, show-quality premium
urethane finish.
