January
2006: PULLEEEEZE read/heed this advisory:
You'll
encounter a number of functional enhancements with CobraCountry's
makeover.
Here are some VERY valuable tips and insider secrets for you:
1.
SideWinder search engine:
CobraCountry's
"SideWinder" search
engine. With over 600 web pages dedicated to Cobras, Daytona Coupes
and GT40s, providing you with an efficient and fast search engine
was a top priority for us.Try
it out.
You'll be astonished at how lightning-fast it is. If you're in Iowa
or Nebraska or Indiana, type in "Cobra makers in the midwest"
or "Cobra producers in Missouri" and you'll be instantly
treated to hotlinks to the Cobra producers in your area; type in "Peter
Brock" and you be treated to the 18 or 20 pages on CobraCountry
that mention or relate to the designer/creator of the Cobra Daytona
Coupe; type in "square tube" to get hotlinks
to those Cobra replicas with a square/rectangular tube chassis; type
in "backbone" for hotlinks to Cobras that employ
a backbone-type chassis; type in "Weber" and you'll
find out who is recognized as a Weber carburetor expert. SideWinder
is that good. And we're working continuously to make it even better!
Try it out right now!
2.
Design/display/navigation
enhancements:
We've
taken steps to maximize the 'real estate' available for you on your
computer screen. Thus CC's home page opens with most of the "utility
areas" (i.e., the "URL/address" input
field, the "button bar," the "status bar"
(at the bottom of the window) and the "favorites bar")
of your browser window collapsed/hidden. That represents a lot of
screen real estate. Fear not: below are a few hot
tips to help you adapt.
Note:
these hot tips below are for users
of Microsoft Internet Explorer ONLY:
If
you're a Windows user:
- Back/Forward
buttons: You'll see these on most of the updated pages on
CobraCountry, sometimes at both the top and the bottom of the
page. Convenient for you if you want to return to the previous
page you were on. But there's a bigger advantage: you get
returned to JUST WHERE YOU WERE on that previous page. So if you
want to return to a lonnnnnng scrolling page, such as "Cobras
For Sale" or "Manufacturers," you'll
go right back to where you left off, instead of to the top of
the previous page as is normally the case.
- Keyboard
shortcut: "Control F"
is Internet Explorer's "Find"
command for the specific page you're on. Let's
say you're on CobraCountry's "Cobras For Sale" page
and you want to quickly read about each Daytona Coupe For Sale
by owner ad on that page:
hold down your "Control" key, hit "F",
and type in 'Daytona'
(and punch 'Enter'). Then switch to 'Alt F' to continue
to race to each next instance of the word 'Daytona.'
- Keyboard
shortcut: your F-11
function key instantly toggles MOST of Internet Explorer's
utility areas off and on, as well as to alternately expand/collapse
your window to full-screen. This is a nifty shortcut that we've
discovered most folks don't know about! Try
it out right now!
- Keyboard
shortcut: "Control R"
refreshes your current (Internet Explorer) page. You don't
need to click an icon or pull down a menu, just hold down your
"Control" key and punch "R." Another nifty
shortcut. Try it out right now!
If
you're a Macintosh
user:
- Back/Forward
buttons: (exact same functionality for Mac as for Windows,
described above).
- Keyboard
shortcut: "Command F"
is Internet Explorer's "Find"
command for the specific page you're on for Macintosh. Let's
say you're on CobraCountry's "Cobras For Sale" page
and you want to quickly read about each Daytona Coupe For Sale
by owner ad on that page:
hold down your "Command" key, hit "F",
and type in 'Daytona'
(and punch 'Enter'). Then switch
to
'Command-G' to continue to race to each next instance
of the word 'Daytona.'
- Keyboard
shortcut: "Command B"
instantly toggles ALL of Internet Explorer's "utility
areas" off and on. On occasion you may need to initially
hit "Command B"
twice to get the toggle to function (we're not sure why this is).
Another marvelous shortcut. Try it
out right now!
- Keyboard
shortcut: "Command R"
refreshes your screen. Again, no need to pull down a menu or click
an icon, just hold down your "Command" key and
punch "R." Try it out right
now!
- Keyboard
shortcut: "Command (left-bracket)"
is the "back" command in Internet Explorer... you
go back to the previous page. No click button or menu selection
required. Try it out right now!
