This is a dazzling specimen of a Backdraft Racing 427 Cobra roadster, chassis#661. It’s finished with an aircraft-grade Rossa Red paint and Arctic White LeMans stripes. As a result, the paint is lustrous and safeguards against common road debris that would disfigure lesser-quality paints.

Everything about this Backdraft roadster—from the 1969 Ford 351W V8 with T-5 C/S 5th gear (OD) transmission, to its aggressive stance and grand touring cockpit will make your dreams come true.

My dream indeed came true. I had always dreamed of owning and driving this iconic muscle car ever since I was 23 years old. It is now time to move onto another dream and let someone else fulfill his (or her) Cobra dream. You’ll savor the raw power and nimble handling that this serpent gives you.

Professionally built in 2008 and with only 4,500 miles (7,200 km) logged, this li’l red reptile is in like-new condition.

Registered in California under the coveted SB-100
(smog exempt) as a 1965 Special Construction Cobra:

This Backdraft serpent is well equipped to handle the race track with its powerplant, geartrain, and suspension. I must admit though that I am not much of an open track driver. I preferred to enjoy this serpent in state routes through back country roads (the highways and the byways) in Southern California. Cool morning or early evening sorties were no problem given the heater and de-mister. This extended my driving season significantly. The Backdraft cockpit provides extra comfort and additional legroom. The BMW M3 suspension provides the grip and agility that bolstered both my confidence and my cruising comfort every time out.
