Classic Roadsters Cobra
Grand Prix White/LeMans Blue stripes
This stunning 427 Cobra replica by Classic Roadsters here is finished in classic Grand Prix White with LeMans Blue stripes. This beauty was my late husband’s “Bucket List” pride and joy, and as such has always been pampered and garaged and fastidiously maintained.
This serpent was built on a ‘Bristol’ chassis which has a 4.5″ (11.5cm) longer wheelbase, and is just a bit wider than other Cobra chassis. This provides a bit more legroom for the driver & passenger as well as added stability. As such it is titled as a ‘1960 A/C Bristol.’
The exhaust and sidepipes are finished in Jet Hot Coating.
It features 4-link rear suspension and an 8.8″ [3.55:1-ratio, posi-trac] Ford rear end.
—Beneath the Bonnet—
Ford 351W/450 horsepower
The car is powered by a professionally-prepared 351 Windsor, which is estimated to crank out approximately 450 horsepower at 6000 rpm. It features 9.5:1 compression, hydraulic cam, roller rockers, screw-in studs. ported & polished heads, TRW pistons, polished crankshaft. All this is fed by a Holley 750cfm carb through an Edelbrock ‘Performer’ dual-plane aluminum intake.
As you can see, that BF Goodrich ‘Radial T/A’ “Billboard” rubber is in good shape with little tread wear.
