Shelby 427SC Cobra
Guardsman Blue/WimWhite stripes
Congratulations! Your search for a seriously stupendous serpent has ceased here! This is a genuine 1965 Shelby Cobra, glass-bodied 427S/C ‘Shelby Continuation Series,’ serial#CSX4952. MSO (Manufacturers Statement of Origin) personally signed by Carroll Shelby. I am the second owner; ‘born on date’ is June 2010.
This is one of the last of the 4000 Series Shelby Cobras built. It’s a very special serpent! This fully documented car is registered in The World Registry of Cobras. Built by the artisans of HST International, with fit & finish second to none!
Stunning Guardsman Blue paint with correct Wimbledon White LeMans stripes. The paint is deep with a look of another dimension—a must see! Clear bra on nose/rear fender well/rear lower fenders.
Roush 427SR Windsor V8
[delivers 502 horses/521 ft. lbs. torque]
Roush 427SR, Ser#841 [you get the spec sheet; dyno’d at 502 horses and a brutal 521 ft/lbs torque]. MSD ignition, 9.5″ deck height, cast-iron 4-bolt block, steel crank, H-beam rods, forged pistons, aluminum CNC-ported heads, roller cam, dual-plane intake, Holley 770 cfm 4-barrel carburetor [electric choke set up for mild tropical temperatures].
This reptile weighs in at only 2,600 lbs. [1,180 kg] but really punches at 502 hp!
Cooling performed by the huge Fluidyne aluminum 4-core radiator, assisted by triple electric cooling fans (one massive puller & two up-front pushers). Ceramic-coated headers connect to the beautifully Jet Hot Coated sidepipes.
The aluminum firewall is especially clean and “new-looking,” but unfortunately it didn’t occur to me to capture it in my engine shots.
above: Roush engine plate.
Shelby instrument gauges [with ‘correct’ reverse-winding speedometer], original-styled hardwood-rimmed steering wheel. Simpson lap belts. Period-correct pedals, premium leather upholstery. Glovebox, door map pockets, and American Shelby Cobra floormats. Two sets of keys for ignition/glovebox. Genuine CSX4952 dash plaque mounted on glovebox door. Carpeted trunk.
Other cockpit details: Battery cutoff switch disconnects the dual (red) Optimum 6V (series-wired) batteries. The driver’s adjustable seat track is removed to maximize space, but you get the original track. The firewall and center tunnel are effectively insulated to reduce both sound and heat from entering the cockpit.
Only 3,365 miles [5,400 km] logged! This beauty of a beast is stabled in my climate-controlled stable here in Ewa Beach, Hawaii [island of Oahu].
As a courtesy to you, I will help with logistics of shipping preparation on this island—either ocean ship or Air Cargo, ensuring your Cobra is properly prepared and delivered to your choice of shipping company.
Serious inquiries only, please!
29 September, 2018: You can mark that dazzling Guardsman Blue CSX4952 SOLD! It's on its way to a very lucky new owner in the U.K. Once again I've sold three Shelby Cobras and one Ford GT thanks to your site! And in the process I've learned a great deal about good Cobra-specific moto photography! I've also successfully avoided lava flows and central-Pacific hurricanes between the sales, but I can’t give you credit for those adventures. That said, many thanks once again! Andy Kuhlwein
