I was the third owner and wanted to ensure that this car was fully-roadworthy for the trips we had planned. So I had the engine disassembled and thoroughly cleaned and refreshed by this region’s widely-respected Lanier’s Speed Shop in Colorado Springs.
New seals, gaskets, piston rings, oil pump, water pump, harmonic balancer; street-ported, flywheel resurfaced, clutch rebuilt, new master and slave cylinders. The Holley carburetor was sent to Brent Lykins to be rebuilt and tuned. The entire refresh was done during November 2003 at 28,000 miles [45,000 km].
This li’l red reptile has now logged 39,654 trouble-free miles [64,000 km] and has several multi-day highway trips to its credit. This Cobra is ready for you to drive or to show.
