Superformance 427SC MkIII
SP02464, Royal Blue/Arctic White stripes
SP02464 was sold by Oltoff Racing in 2006 and completed by expert New York installer Classic Concepts. This drivin’ machine has covered just 7,300 miles [11,750 km] and is fully sorted, updated and ready to go, including new lettered Avon rubber, updated Cobra Valley upper rear R/T suspension mounts and a total and complete servicing.
You get every receipt and service record for the car’s entire life, from the build-out options to the Certificate of Origin to the most recent service. This blue beauty needs nothing except sunny days.
—Where The ‘Menace Factor’ Begins—
Beneath the bonnet: a full-polished Roush 427R-295-4V V8 engine [delivers 550 hp/535 ft.lbs. torque—you get the original Roush dyno sheet].
It’s outfitted with: Edelbrock polished ‘Performer RPM’ intake manifold and Holley #4150 4-bbl. carburetor. Roush polished aluminum valve covers, Roush aluminum air cleaner with premium K&N filter. Silver-ceramic-coated headers & sidepipes. MSD ignition ensemble, distributor and wire set.
Aluminum single-core hi-performance radiator and all-braided SS lines; 3 qt. accumulator/ overflow tank. Thermostatically-operated electric fans with manual override. This engine is as happy to lope around town in second gear as it is to open it up on the highway. No stalling, no issues with idle, low-speed, high-speed etc., any speed, any gear drivability.
Also included with the car: lead hammer, safety wire, and safety wire pliers and a can of ‘Fix a Flat’ mounted in the trunk.
—In this car’s (Legend-correct) Cockpit—
In the cockpit: ultra-premium German black leather upholstery, Smiths Instruments blackfaced gauges [with ‘correct’ Lucas amps gauge and reverse-winding speedometer], Lucas toggle switches, new Moto-Lita handcrafted hardwood-rimmed steering wheel with Cobra emblem plus uninstalled original leather-wrapped-steering wheel. Original-style AC pedals, slide-adjustable driver seat, original-style lock & latch aircraft-style seatbelts and shoulder harness for both driver & passenger.
Locking glovebox personally signed by Carroll Shelby
It’s also outfitted with: never-installed factory soft top with side curtains/windows, emergency tonneau cover, fitted indoor car cover from California Car Cover.
—It’s also outfitted with—
LeMans-style gas filler and locking cap, SS (stainless steel) quickjacks, windwings and tinted visors, 17-gallon [64-liter] pressure-tested SS fuel tank, front clear bra and quick battery disconnect switch in trunk.
You also get a static cling set of meatballs and vintage decal kit along with the previously mentioned original leather steering wheel, safety wire/pliers and the original shock mounts.
The car was originally registered in New York state and includes a New York–issued VIN. All receipts from the car’s options sheet to most recent $2,000 service which included a replacement fuel pump, new valve cover gaskets and the replacement of all time-sensitive fluids.
No expense was spared on this ‘menace of the motorways.’ It has always been stabled in a heated garage on a trickle charger; never driven in rain.
I can’t say enough on how thoroughly dialed-in and ready to go this Cobra is in every regard; it’s an absolutely breathtaking driving and ownership adventure.
